The Journey of Desert Flying Club

Desert Flying Club (DFC) was born from a simple but powerful idea: to bring together people who love to fly, and to create a supportive, affordable way to enjoy aviation in the heart of the desert. What started as a small group of aviation enthusiasts has grown into a vibrant community, united by a shared passion for the skies.

For over 10 years, DFC has been serving pilots of all experience levels—providing access to well-maintained aircraft, quality instruction, and a strong community grounded in safety, learning, and the pure joy of flight. Founded by a handful of dedicated pilots who saw a need for a more community-driven flying experience, the club was built on volunteerism, integrity, and a deep love for aviation.

Rather than focusing on profit, our mission has always been to make flying accessible and fun—especially for those who value camaraderie, continuous growth, and shared experience. DFC is 100% volunteer-run, powered by passionate members who freely give their time and talents to help others pursue their aviation dreams.

Over the past decade, we’ve grown in both size and spirit—expanding our membership, adding aircraft, and hosting events, safety seminars, and group fly-outs. Yet through it all, our core values have remained unchanged.
